As a Parish Council, we work closely with many other agencies. This is not a comprehensive list (basically, we will talk to anybody!), but here are some of the people we work closely with:
Environment Agency
In the event of concern about flooding in Sible Hedingham or high river levels, or if the flood gates at Alderford Mill and Hulls Mill need opening, please contact the Environment Agency direct. The number to ring is 0800 807060. This could be a call centre in Sheffield, or Scotland (or anywhere) and they will need to know where Sible Hedingham is. Please quote the following post codes, which will enable the Environment Agency to provide a speedy response;
Alderford Mill: CO9 3HX
Hulls Mill: CO9 3AL

The Parish Council receive regular reports from David about Essex County Council affairs, but, more importantly, we can bend David’s ear on a range of issues from Highways to Policing to Flood Defense. David also holds a regular surgery in the Council office - details on the notice board.
Youth Service
Our local Youth leader, Anne Thrussell, gives unstiltingly of her time and effort to help the young people in our area. She has organised many activities and works closely with the Youth Council. Her input into the THF08 event has been invaluable.
Community Warden
Richard Winter, (richard.winter@braintree.gov.uk) is our local Community Warden, funded by Braintree District Council. Richard works closely with the Neighbourhod Policing team, Dog wardens, the “Clean Team” and many other agencies.
Youth Council
Sible Hedingham Parish Council strongly supported the setting-up of a Youth Council in 2005. It is now a fully functioning, autonomous body which has gained funding for a number of projects. The Youth Council sends regular reports to the Parish Councils of both Sible and Castle Hedingham on their activities and we are proud of what our young people can achieve. We wish to support them in any way we can. The Youth Council is as concerned as we are to stamp out anti-social behaviour and we, as well as they, know that it is only a minority of young people who spoil it for the majority. As a Parish Council, we are committed to every section of society - young, elderly, disabled, disadvantaged, etc. but the problems for the young people in rural areas where there are few facilties are particulary worrying. We must maintain and continue a dialogue with those who will be the movers and shakers of the next generation.
