The "minutes" are an accurate record of all council meetings and are available to view online.
Copies of the minutes are also available at the Parish Council offices. The latest minutes are on the notice boards outside the Office, the Co-op, Library and at Oxford Meadow. Click on the links below to view the appropriate minutes, listed in descending date order.
There is also a page for Planning Committee Minutes, but some Planning applications are dealt with only at Monthly Parish Council Meetings, not in Committee
Please note: The latest month’s minutes listed below are unconfirmed and should be taken as provisional until “signed off” at the next meeting.
"Private Session"
At the end of some month's minutes you may notice that following a resolution of the council, the Chairman has requested members of the public and press to withdraw so that the meeting may continue in private session. There is a presumption in law that all Parish Council business be open to the public. Occasionally however it may be necessary to exclude the public and press and the reason for this will be explained during the meeting and stated on the minutes. The reasons for excluding the public and press are:
1) To discuss Engagement, terms of service, conduct or dismissal of employees.
2) To discuss terms of tenders, proposals and counter proposals in negotiation for contracts
3) Preparation of Legal Proceedings
4) The early stages of a dispute
From May 2011 the procedure for private session is as follows:
a) The item is put on the Agenda in the normal way, but with a sub-clause to the effect that the council may wish to move that the item be heard in camera.
b) The chairman or any member may propose that the item be heard in camera. A seconder and a vote will follow.
c) If the motion is passed the public and press will be asked to leave the meeting, pursuant to the provisions of the Public Bodies (Admissions to Meetings) Act 1960.
d) The meeting will continue in private, minutes will be circulated to councillors only, but any decision arrived at will be recorded in the publicly available minutes.
