EVENTS 2009
HALLOWEEN
Once again, the Halloween event organised by the Parish Council, together with the Youth Council, Youth Service and Police was a success. Click here to see pictures from the 2009 event. Click here for pictures
DOG FOULING
This has become a serious problem of late, which we are determined to crack down on. Posters are being displayed in prominent places around the village, and we would ask anyone who witnesses dog fouling (or dogs not on a lead on the Recreation Ground) to act responsibly and let us have details. The dog warden will take action against offenders - the maximum penalty is £1000 fine. Dog faeces can cause serious illness, or even blindness, in children and vulnerable people. Dog-poo bags are available free of charge from the Parish office - please avail yourselves of this service.

BEST KEPT VILLAGE COMPETITION
We have entered the Best kept Village Competition for the first time in 2009. This may seem a bit ambitious, but until we enter, we won’t know how to improve for future years. Judging will take place in early May, and we would ask everyone to be aware, and help by keeping public areas litter-free. We will post the results and judge’s comments as soon as they are available.
JULY 2009 UPDATE
We were, unfortunately, not successful in nay categories of the Best kept Village Competition this year, but we did get through to the second round, and are hoping for better things next year.
ANNUAL PARISH MEETING
The Annual Parish Meeting was held in the Village Hall on Monday 23rd March, 7 for 7.30. Refreshments were served from 7pm. Every household had received an invitation to this event. The minutes are posted on the Minutes page of this site.
New Multi Use Games Area
We were successful in obtaining extra funding from Essex Environment Trust (see Events 2008 page) and now have 5- a-side goals, basket ball hoops and tennis nets.
The MUGA was officially opened by Jo Beavis and John Skittrall on Saturday 17th January 2009, and we were delighted to welcome John Derry from Essex Environment Trust. The weather has delayed our contractor laying the final lines for basketball, but was done very soon after the opening. Hedingham Hawks (and others) are already making good use of the facility and we wish them all well.

Sible Hedingham has been awarded a certificate of merit from the Essex Environment Trust for the high standard of its MUGA project.
