Your Parish Councillors are not paid for the work they do, but we do need to employ people to help in the efficient (we hope!) running of the Village. Current employees are:

Adrian Corder Birch
Adrian

Clerk and Responsible Financial Officer. Adrian is a great asset to the village and lays claim to being the longest serving Clerk in Essex (having served Little Yeldham, Belchamp et al for may years.) His legal background with local solicitors Birkett Long has proved invaluable on many occasions.

Brian Hoadley
DSCF1217

Brian is well known to many parishioners and has recently taken over the litter-picking and general handyman duties formerly undertaken by Keith Metson (see below). If you don’t see Brian about his duties, it is probably because he has completed them before you got up! Brian can often be spotted (by some) walking off the Rec at 7 am on a Saturday morning with a full bag of rubbish collected from Friday night’s jollifications by the youngsters.

Brian Coe

Brian cuts the grass on the Recreation Ground, Gray’s Hall Meadow and other areas in the Village. A bit of an un-sung hero is our Brian, as he just quietly gets on with the job with no fuss.

Previous employees.
We owe a debt of gratitude to three previous employees, namely;
Iris Smith
Iris served as Clerk in 2004-2005 and took on a difficult job of re-organistion after the resignation of the previous Clerk and the acquisition of our first Council Office. Iris passed away in July 2008 and our thoughts are with her nearest and dearest.
Keith Metson
Keith served the village as litter picker, handyman and grass-cutter until his untimely death in May 2008. Many a resident has cause to be grateful for Keith and John Skittrall’s distribution of sand bags when floods were threatened.
Danny Moores
Danny retired in 2006, having served the village for many years. Danny was instrumental in making the Garden of Remembrance what it is today and maintaining it to a high standard. Danny continues his Christian and Philanthropic work, with the support of his wife, Jill.
